We asked our returning colleagues about their journey back to PPD, and this is what Lucretia had to share!

Lucretia Schewe

Did you rejoin PPD in a new position/function since your last position with us, or did you return to the same group?

I returned to the same department but to a different position.

What made you return to PPD?

I retired from PPD, but found I greatly missed the daily routine and challenges, and most of all, the team collaboration to support and assist each other.

How did you come to reach PPD to express an interest in opportunities?

I reached out to my former department’s regional director to discuss possible opportunities to return and expressed my interest in returning in a different position within the department.

Are there any new skills you brought back to the team?

I am able to use my knowledge and skills from my former position to assist others and provide a different perspective in understanding and resolving issues.

Did you miss anything about PPD? Systems, processes, team members, clients, etc.?

I missed the opportunity to adapt with new processes and systems that ultimately benefitted our team’s success. I especially missed the team’s overall availability to support and encourage each other.

How have you found the experience of returning to PPD?

To return to PPD was one of my best decisions. I happily thrive with the work experiences each day and the opportunity to work with my assigned team to meet and resolve challenges, contributing to the department’s success.

When you returned, was there anything new at PPD that has enhanced your overall experience?

Upon my return, I was introduced to new processes and a couple of new systems. I found it easy to adapt to the new systems and see the overall benefits they provide. I am also excited about being part of Thermo Fisher Scientific. The acquisition has created many new changes and opportunities within PPD as well as within each department. I look forward to continued growth and success with PPD.

What do you enjoy about your current position?

I enjoy my new role and assigned tasks. The challenges are different in my new role and the work I do directly contributes to the success of a study. I still have opportunities to utilize my knowledge and skills while providing support and guidance to other team members.
