Thermo Fisher Scientific Wins Multiple Awards at Clinical Researcher of the Year Competition

WILMINGTON, N.C. (December 6, 2022) – The PPD clinical research business of Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc., the world leader in serving science, has earned numerous recognitions, including the highest honor of “Clinical Research Company of the Year,” at the 2022 PharmaTimes Clinical Researcher of the Year-The Americas competition, which recognizes top talent in the clinical research industry.

More than 20 PPD clinical researchers also received honors in the team and individual categories of the competition. The wins reinforce the business’ commitment to recruiting the highest caliber of clinical research professionals, as well as the effectiveness of its award-winning training and development programs, such as the business’ Clinical Foundation Program and its CRA (Clinical Research Associate) Academy.

“Year after year, our colleagues are successful in this competition because we are dedicated to preparing and equipping our research professionals with the training and tools they need to deliver strong performance, quality and value to our customers,” said Cris Nieto, senior vice president of clinical operations, clinical research, Thermo Fisher Scientific. “This competition enables our team members to test their professional skills in a highly competitive environment, while also allowing them to demonstrate their knowledge, critical thinking and experience on a broader platform.”

The CROY Americas competition, hosted by PharmaTimes, provides clinical research professionals an opportunity to benchmark their skills against their peers through various exercises and assessments, including a three-stage competition.

In June, the PPD clinical research business was named “Clinical Research Company of the Year” at the 2022 PharmaTimes Clinical Researcher of the Year International competition in London. A number of individual PPD clinical researchers also took home top honors in the individual categories during the international competition.
